Position Overview
Pinellas Technical College is seeking an experienced HVAC professional to transition into an instructional role and train the next generation of technicians.
This is a hands-on teaching position focused on developing students? technical skills, work ethic, and industry readiness. The ideal candidate brings real-world HVAC experience and is ready to apply it in a structured, competency-based training environment.

Key Responsibilities
? Deliver hands-on HVAC/R instruction aligned to state frameworks and industry standards
? Train students in electrical systems, refrigeration cycles, diagnostics, and installation practices
? Prepare students for EPA 608 and HVAC Excellence certifications
? Implement competency-based instruction tied to real-world job tasks
? Assess student performance through practical application and written evaluation
? Track and document student progress, attendance, and certification readiness
? Maintain a structured classroom and lab environment that reflects workplace expectations
? Collaborate with administration and industry advisory members to ensure program relevance
? Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with HVAC technologies

Minimum Qualifications
? High School Diploma or equivalent
? 6 years of verified full-time HVAC/R industry experience
OR
6 years of prior HVAC teaching experience
? Ability to qualify for a Florida Teaching Certificate
