Minimum Qualifications

Education: Master's degree in Human Services or a related field.
Experience:

• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in vocational rehabilitation and/or the mental health field.
• Experience providing vocational, educational, recreational, and supportive services to individuals with behavioral health needs preferred.

Work Eligibility: Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Work Location Requirement: Coney Island, Brooklyn

About the Role

The Vocational/Educational/Activities/Tax Credit Specialist provides vocational rehabilitation, educational support, recreational programming, and tax credit compliance services to individuals receiving residential treatment services. This position assists clients in identifying and achieving employment, educational, and community integration goals while coordinating recreational and skill-building activities that support recovery and independence. The role also manages tax credit documentation, reporting, compliance activities, and audit preparation to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the Specialist promotes client empowerment, community engagement, and overall well-being.

Primary Responsibilities

• Conduct intake assessments and develop individualized vocational and educational plans.
• Provide vocational counseling, educational planning, and employment readiness support through individual and group services.
• Connect clients to vocational, educational, and community-based resources.
• Develop employer relationships and support job placement and employment retention efforts.
• Organize and facilitate recreational, social, cultural, and community integration activities.
• Support client skill development, self-advocacy, and empowerment initiatives.
• Assist with cognitive remediation, work-readiness, activity, and support groups as needed.
• Maintain accurate vocational, educational, and program documentation.
• Prepare and submit required clinical, administrative, statistical, and regulatory reports.
• Maintain tax credit files, ensure regulatory compliance, complete required reporting, and assist with audit preparation.
• Collaborate with residential staff and participate in interdisciplinary team meetings.
• Provide crisis intervention, problem-solving assistance, and support to clients and staff as needed.
• Perform additional duties and supervisory responsibilities as assigned
