The Volunteer and Event Coordinator is a key member of the Community Education Center team, responsible for building meaningful community connections through volunteer engagement and impactful event planning. This role ensures that events run smoothly and that volunteers feel empowered and appreciated.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruit, train, and support a diverse group of volunteers for classes, outreach, and special events.
  • Maintain a positive and organized volunteer experience, including onboarding, scheduling, and communication.
  • Plan and coordinate community events, celebrations, and outreach efforts that reflect the mission and values of the center.
  • Collaborate with staff and community partners to execute successful events that boost program visibility and community engagement.
  • Keep accurate records of volunteer hours, participation, and event outcomes.
  • Work with ESL Program Manager to establish a Community Conversations program.

This is an AmeriCorps position.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with attention to detail.
  • Experience volunteering or event preparation preferred.
  • Comfortable working with diverse populations and community partners.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is strongly preferred.
  • Able to work occasional evenings or weekends as needed for events.
  • Friendly, proactive, and community-minded.
