Volunteer & Community Outreach Coordinator

Overview:

Are you passionate about people, community, and making a difference? Good Shepherd Hospice is looking for a Volunteer & Community Outreach Coordinator to lead our local volunteer program and build meaningful relationships throughout the community.

 

This is an opportunity to combine your passion for helping others with your skills in relationship building, volunteer coordination, and community outreach—all while helping bring awareness to the compassionate care Good Shepherd Hospice provides to patients and families.

Responsibilities:

About the role:

• Recruit, screen, train, coordinate, and support hospice volunteers.
• Build strong relationships with volunteers and provide ongoing guidance and support.
• Develop relationships with healthcare providers, community organizations, faith-based groups, and local businesses.
• Represent GSH at community events, health fairs, and educational programs.
• Help educate the community about hospice services and our philosophy of care.
• Partner with leadership and internal teams to strengthen community relationships and outreach.
• Coordinate volunteer recognition, education, and engagement activities.

Qualifications:

About you:

• 4+ years of experience in hospice, healthcare, human services, volunteer services, or a similar field.
• Associate Degree or equivalent experience required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Strong communication, relationship-building, and public-speaking skills.
• Management or supervisory experience preferred.
• Organized, dependable, and comfortable working independently.
• Passionate about serving others and committed to the hospice philosophy of care.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally.
