Job Summary
Catholic Charities of the Diocese of St. Cloud is seeking a Volunteer Program Coordinator to support our Emergency Services programs. This position is responsible for the full lifecycle of volunteer engagement-recruitment, placement, training, coordination, and recognition-while also supporting program operations and providing direct service to clients.
This is a highly relational, hands-on role that plays a key part in ensuring a positive volunteer experience and effective service delivery across our Food Shelf, Mobile Food Services, and Basic Everyday Essentials programs.
What you will do
- Lead and manage the Emergency Services volunteer program, including recruitment, onboarding, training, scheduling, and recognition
- Coordinate and assign volunteers to roles within the Food Shelf, Mobile Food Services, and Basic Everyday Essentials programs
- Utilize and maintain VolunteerHub (online volunteer management system) to track volunteer hours, schedules, and engagement activities
- Support and coordinate volunteers for large-scale events and special projects, including Toys for Tots, Stamp Out Hunger, and other community initiatives
- Provide on-site leadership during distributions to ensure smooth operations and a positive experience for volunteers and clients
- Assist clients directly, including welcoming new households, conducting intake as needed, responding to requests, and making referrals to additional services
- Collaborate with program staff to ensure volunteer efforts align with program needs and priorities
What we're looking for (Required Qualifications)
Education:
- Bachelor's degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
Experience:
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in volunteer coordination, customer service, or human services
- Experience supervising or working with volunteers strongly preferred
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Passion for service and commitment to serving individuals and families in need
