    BereavementSupportVolunteer

    • Assistingwithsupportgroupsandmemorialservices
    • Providingfollow-upsupporttobereavedfamilies
    • Creatinghandmoldsforpatientsandfamilies
    • Collaboratingwithsocialworkersandchaplains

    Helphospicestaffwithadministrativeandorganizationaltasks,including:

    • Preparingandmailingbirthdaycards
    • Assemblinginformationalandmailingpackets
    • Makingsupplyandcheck-incallstopatients
    • Assistingwithhospiceeventsandspecialprojects

    VolunteerQualifications

    Tobecomeahospicevolunteer,applicantsmust:

    • Beatleast18yearsofage
    • Beabletoworkindependentlywithinassignedresponsibilities
    • Demonstratestrongcommunicationandinterpersonalskills
    • Practiceactivelisteningandshowempathytowardothers
    • Maintainappropriateprofessionalboundaries
    • Possessemotionalmaturityandsoundmentalhealth
    • Besensitivetotheneedsofpatientsandfamilies
    • Workeffectivelywithindividualsfromdiversebackgroundsandfamilysituations
    • Remaincalmandprofessionalinstressfulsituations
    • Beself-motivated,dependable,flexible,andadaptable
    • Committovolunteeringatleast2hoursperweekforaminimumof6months
    • Havereliabletransportation,asourserviceareaextendsfromEagleMountaintoSantaquin
