About us: Coast to Cascades Bird Alliance (formerly Lane Audubon) has been a 501c3 for over fifty years. Our mission is to inspire our community to enjoy and protect birds, other wildlife and pollinators through education, advocacy and the protection of our shared environment. We have 1200 dues paying members and an all volunteer, working board. Our programs are nearly all volunteer run and include adult and child education, habitat restoration, guided bird outings, festivals and presentations.
Our budget is under $60K. We have grant income. An accounting firm prepares our taxes. We have recently begun using Quickbooks Online to facilitate bill paying and payroll for our one part time employee.
We seek a qualified, passionate, volunteer treasurer. Our previous treasurer of over 20 years is retiring, and we are making changes to the role to minimize bookkeeping duties. The role will involve financial oversight, compliance, board education and budgetary management. Qualifications: A background in nonprofit finance, bookkeeping or public accounting; Willingness to serve on the board; 3 references; Presence in Eugene, OR at least part time and ability to attend monthly board meetings either in person or via zoom, with occasional committee meetings at other times.
Work is remote as we do not have a physical office space.
