Job Story
The Civic Engagement Internship is an integral part of the Student Engagement & Belonging team and the Shockers Vote! Coalition. This position will run through the 2026-2027 academic year and will be supervised directly by the Coordinator of Civic Engagement. The internship is designed to provide students with meaningful, hands-on experience in voter and civic engagement through a combination of defined responsibilities, event planning, community engagement, and leadership opportunities
Job Summary
A student assistant will carry out administrative and technical tasks requested by a supervisor. Depending on the area the student assistant is employed in, they may assist and mentor other students or provide support throughout the campus in various forms.

National Voter Registration Day festivities
Vote Early Day (October 28)
Election Day and Get Out the Vote activities
Required Education
High School diploma or equivalent. Enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours at Wichita State University.

Physical Requirements
Ability to remain in a stationary position. Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment including but not limited to phone, printers, copiers, and calculators. Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information.
