We are seeking an accomplished and strategic Vice President of Clinical Operations to lead and oversee all clinical operational functions across the organization. This executive role is responsible for driving clinical excellence, operational efficiency, patient safety, regulatory compliance, and workforce performance across multiple healthcare facilities or service lines.
The ideal candidate is a senior healthcare executive with deep clinical expertise, strong operational leadership experience, and a proven track record of improving patient outcomes while optimizing healthcare delivery systems at scale.

Define and execute the organization’s clinical operations strategy across all facilities
Align clinical operations with organizational goals, patient care standards, and financial objectives
Oversee hospital or multi-site clinical operations to ensure consistency and excellence in care delivery
Lead initiatives to improve patient outcomes, quality metrics, and operational performance
Establish clinical governance frameworks and operational standards
Drive efficiency and effectiveness in clinical workflows and care delivery models
Establish KPIs for clinical performance, patient safety, and operational efficiency
Monitor and improve patient throughput, length of stay, and resource utilization
Lead process improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies
Identify and eliminate operational inefficiencies across clinical departments
Lead and mentor Directors of Nursing, Nurse Managers, and clinical leadership teams
Oversee workforce planning, staffing models, and talent development strategies
Promote leadership development and succession planning within clinical teams
Ensure adequate staffing levels and competency across all clinical roles
Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, and clinical excellence
Oversee patient safety programs and quality improvement initiatives
Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and accreditation standards (Joint Commission, CMS, etc.)
Monitor clinical outcomes and implement corrective action plans where needed
Reduce hospital-acquired conditions, readmissions, and adverse events
Promote a culture of continuous improvement and patient-centered care
Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local healthcare regulations
Oversee accreditation readiness and audit preparedness across all facilities
Collaborate with compliance and risk management teams to mitigate clinical risks
Maintain governance structures for clinical documentation and reporting
Ensure adherence to evidence-based clinical standards and protocols
Partner with CEOs, COOs, CNOs, and Medical Directors on organizational strategy
Collaborate with Finance, HR, IT, and Quality teams to align operations
Represent clinical operations in executive and board-level meetings
Communicate performance metrics and strategic initiatives to stakeholders
Support integration of new facilities, services, or clinical programs
Manage budgets and financial performance for clinical operations
Optimize staffing models to balance cost efficiency and patient care quality
Oversee resource allocation, supply chain coordination, and operational investments
Identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising care quality
Support financial forecasting and strategic planning initiatives
Lead clinical response during emergencies, surges, and critical incidents
Develop and maintain disaster preparedness and continuity of care plans
Ensure readiness for public health emergencies or operational disruptions
Coordinate system-wide clinical escalation protocols
Support rapid response decision-making during high-risk scenarios
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field
Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN), Healthcare Administration (MHA), or MBA preferred
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the United States (preferred but not always required depending on scope)
10+ years of clinical healthcare experience
5+ years of senior leadership experience in clinical operations or hospital administration
Strong understanding of hospital operations, patient care systems, and healthcare regulations
Proven ability to lead large, multi-disciplinary clinical teams
Experience in multi-site or enterprise healthcare environments
Strong executive communication, leadership, and strategic planning skills
Must currently reside in one of the approved locations listed above
Experience as Director of Nursing, CNO, or Senior Clinical Director prior to executive leadership
Experience in large hospital systems or integrated healthcare networks
Strong background in quality improvement, patient safety, and operational transformation
Familiarity with Lean Healthcare, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies
Experience with healthcare IT systems (EHRs, clinical analytics platforms)
Strong financial acumen in healthcare budgeting and operations
Experience managing regulatory audits and accreditation processes
Track record of successful large-scale clinical transformation initiatives
