Compensation Accounting SpecialistKey ResponsibilitiesOversee accounting and reporting for employee compensation, including salaries, bonuses, commissions, deferred compensation, and equity-based awardsPrepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses related to compensation expensesSupport month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes with a focus on payroll and compensation accrualsPartner with HR, Payroll, and Finance teams to ensure completeness and accuracy of compensation dataManage accounting for share-based compensation, including stock options and RSUs, under relevant accounting standards (e.g., US GAAP or IFRS)Analyse compensation trends and provide insights to senior management and FP&A teamsEnsure compliance with internal controls, policies, and external regulatory requirementsAssist with audits by preparing supporting documentation and responding to auditor queriesIdentify opportunities to improve processes, enhance controls, and drive operational efficiencyContribute to system implementations or enhancements related to payroll and compensation accountingMPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law. MPI encourages applications from minorities, women, the disabled, protected veterans and all other qualified applicants.Qualifications & SkillsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field5- 10 years of relevant accounting experience (public accounting or industry)Strong understanding of compensation-related accounting, including payroll and equity compensationFamiliarity with US GAAP (or IFRS) and internal controls frameworksCPA or equivalent qualification preferredAdvanced Excel skills; experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is advantageousExcellent analytical skills with strong attention to detailProven ability to work cross-functionally with HR and Finance stakeholdersStrong communication skills, both written and verbalCompetitive annual salary ranging from $135,000 to $175,000.
