Title: VP, Credit Review (Large Corporate)

Office Status: Hybrid New York, NY

Base Salary: $165k - $185k + Bonus

ABOUT THE ROLE

This Vice President opportunity sits within the Loan Review function of a well-established global financial institution, supporting the independent credit review of a diversified US loan portfolio across branches and offices in the Americas. The role offers meaningful involvement across the full loan review lifecycle from credit file analysis and risk rating validation through documentation quality assessment, collateral review, and formal findings reporting to senior management in New York and internationally. It's an ideal fit for a credit-trained professional with strong analytical skills and a keen eye for documentation quality, regulatory compliance, and credit risk classification who is comfortable presenting findings and recommendations to business lines, risk departments, and internal and external auditors.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Work with the Head of Loan Review to develop goals, objectives, and plans for each portfolio review cycle and the broader department mandate
  • Prepare timely credit file reviews covering initial underwriting analysis, RPC annual review updates, risk rating verification against rating matrix guidelines and regulatory loan classification standards, credit documentation accuracy relative to business terms and credit approvals, and collateral adequacy assessment
  • Analyze individual obligor risk rating re-validation processes;assess compliance with internal credit and operational policies and external regulatory requirements in accordance with the examination manual for US Branches and Agencies of Foreign Banking Organizations
  • Assess the accuracy and timeliness of Front Office and RPC updates regarding changes in borrower credit profiles including both improvements and deteriorations
  • Aggregate individual file reviews into formalized portfolio review reports;present findings, conclusions, and recommendations to general management of business lines and the Risk department
  • Document all review work in a traceable and audit-ready manner;maintain organized files that support regulatory examination readiness
  • Make presentations of portfolio review reports to internal departments;work in coordination with RPC and Business Lines to develop follow-up programs when recommendations are agreed
  • Perform continuous monitoring risk assessments across assigned portfolios
  • Monitor changes in accounting standards that may impact credit analysis of international corporate credits;stay current on loan review and audit trends and adjust methodologies accordingly
  • Assist the Head of Loan Review in responding to and communicating with internal and external auditors including regulatory and bank examiners during examination periods
