Title: VP Credit Risk, BDCs & Private Credit (FIG)

Office Status: Hybrid New York, NY

Base Salary: $138k $185k + Bonus

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a Vice President-level credit risk opportunity within the Financial Institutions Group of a leading global financial institution, with a specific focus on Business Development Companies and Private Credit funds an area of growing strategic priority for the team. The role sits in the second line of defense, owning the review and challenge of credit applications across a broad FIG counterparty universe while bringing specialized expertise in BDCs, private credit platforms, and 1940 Act fund structures.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Analyze credit risk across a diverse FIG counterparty portfolio with primary focus on Business Development Companies and Private Credit funds, alongside broader coverage of banks, broker-dealers, insurance companies, asset managers, and structured transactions in the Americas
  • Review and challenge credit applications submitted by the front office;prepare and present executive summaries and written credit recommendations to Credit Department management
  • Conduct comprehensive analysis including counterparty credit risk, deal structure, facility terms and conditions, transaction background, profitability, and relationship strategy
  • Coordinate the credit approval process by liaising between front office teams and Credit Department management
  • Monitor ongoing credit quality of counterparties and the transaction portfolio;identify and escalate emerging risks proactively
  • Provide feedback and guidance to front office teams to ensure consistent, complete credit applications and compliance with internal policies and procedures
  • Ensure US regulatory requirements are met with each credit application
  • Contribute to other credit-related projects and initiatives as assigned
