We are seeking a high-performing External Wholesaler / Regional Vice President to drive sales growth and advisor engagement across the LA County Territory. The firm manages a broad platform spanning alternatives, retirement, insurance w/ a focus on annuities, and investment solutions and is known for its institutional-caliber product suite, strong brand recognition, and entrepreneurial culture.
This is a highly visible territory management role focused on growing advisor relationships, driving annuity and insurance sales, and partnering closely with internal sales teams to expand market share across key distribution channels.
What You'll Be Doing
• Own and grow a high-potential Southern California territory focused on financial advisors, independent broker dealers, wirehouses, RIAs, and insurance-affiliated distribution partners
• Build and deepen relationships with advisors through consistent in-person meetings, territory travel, branch presentations, workshops, and client events
• Drive territory sales growth through strategic business development and disciplined territory management
• Partner closely with Internal Wholesalers to execute coordinated sales strategies and maximize advisor penetration
• Position retirement and insurance solutions effectively by understanding advisor practices, client needs, and market trends
• Conduct educational presentations, seminars, and portfolio discussions with advisors and centers of influence
• Maintain a strong activity pipeline and leverage CRM/sales tools to manage territory performance and advisor engagement
• Develop and execute business plans around target firms, high-opportunity advisors, and key growth channels
What They're Looking For
• Proven success as an External Wholesaler, Regional VP, or financial services sales professional within annuities, retirement, insurance, asset management, or wealth distribution
• Strong relationship-building and territory development skills with the ability to drive new business while maintaining existing advisor relationships
• Track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals in a highly competitive market
• Strong presentation and communication skills with the ability to influence financial advisors and branch leadership
• Highly self-motivated, entrepreneurial, organized, and comfortable operating independently in the field
• Experience working closely with Internal Wholesalers and broader distribution teams
• Familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRM platforms preferred
• Ability to quickly learn product lines, market positioning, and competitive landscape
Licensing Requirements
• Active Series 7 and 63 licenses required
• Active Life & Health licenses required
• Ability to obtain and maintain non-resident licenses throughout the territory as needed
Preferred Background
• 5–10+ years of wholesaling or financial services distribution experience
• Experience covering Southern California advisor relationships strongly preferred
• Background in annuities, retirement income solutions, alternatives, or insurance-based products is highly attractive
