CBIZ Talent Solutions is partnering with a valued, project-based services client in the Middle TN area in their search for a hands-on VP of Finance & Operations. This is an exciting opportunity to step into a key leadership role, leading financial strategy, accounting, and administrative functions while working closely with executive leadership to drive performance, enhance operational efficiency, and support continued growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee financial operations: accounting, reporting, and monthly close
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
  • Manage job costing, WIP schedules, and project financials
  • Ensure GAAP compliance, internal controls, and risk management
  • Provide financial insights to support executive decision-making
  • Oversee billing, collections, and contract accounting
  • Drive process improvements and operational efficiency
  • Partner with leadership on planning and growth initiatives
  • Lead administrative functions and external partner relationships

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred)
  • 8+ years of finance leadership experience
  • Strong project-based/construction accounting (job costing, WIP, billing)
  • Experience with financial planning, reporting, and cash flow
  • ERP systems + advanced Excel proficiency
  • Hands-on leader with strong communication and attention to detail
