VP, New Business Development

Job Summary

Blue Hour Studios is seeking an entrepreneurial and visionary VP, New Business Development to champion business development and drive revenue expansion. The role will lead net new business acquisition and own the marketing and positioning of Blue Hour's specialized capabilities in social-first strategy, influencer marketing, content creation, and creator partnerships. This role reports directly to senior leadership and is an individual contributor. You will operate as an entrepreneurial leader, collaborating across creative, strategy, and production teams to shape how Blue Hour wins business and positions itself in the market.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

New Business Development & Client Acquisition (75%)

• Prospect and identify potential new clients aligned with Blue Hour's core competencies, with focus on brands leveraging social-first, influencer, and creator-driven strategies.
• Lead outreach and relationship-building with prospective clients, key decision-makers, and holding company leadership.
• Manage and build a robust new business pipeline; qualify opportunities and assess financial viability of potential accounts.
• Own the RFP process, including proposal development, pitch strategy, and presentation leadership for major opportunities.
• Establish and nurture strategic partnerships with key platforms, creators, and industry partners that strengthen Blue Hour's positioning and create new business pathways.
• Collaborate with internal creative, strategy, and production teams to develop compelling new business materials and pitch decks that showcase Blue Hour's distinctive point of view.

Marketing, Positioning & Agency Brand (25%)

• Develop and articulate Blue Hour's market positioning, particularly around social-first strategy, influencer marketing, content creation, and creator partnerships.
• Own Blue Hour's marketing and growth strategy, including website, case studies, thought leadership content, PR efforts, and agency brand building.
• Drive agency visibility through speaking opportunities, industry conferences, and strategic partnerships.
• Lead award submissions and entry strategy to elevate Blue Hour's recognition and visibility within the industry.
• Serve as a critical voice and representative of Blue Hour in the market; contribute to industry thought leadership on creators and culture.
• Lead conversations around emerging trends in the creator economy, platform evolution, and new opportunities within influencer marketing.

Knowledge and Skills Required

• 15+ years' of agency experience (required), with at least 8+ years in new business development, business growth, or related revenue-focused roles.
• Proven track record of building new business pipelines, closing major client accounts, and scaling agency revenue.
• Deep knowledge of and passion for the creator economy, influencer marketing, content creation, and social-first marketing strategies.
• Expert understanding of creator platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, emerging platforms), creator culture, and how creators shape brand narrative and consumer behavior.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to convey complex value propositions in compelling, persuasive ways.
• Strategic thinker with strong execution capability; ability to develop strategy and drive implementation.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with agency operating experience; self-motivated, resourceful, and comfortable operating autonomously.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment; comfortable with ambiguity and capable of rapid learning.
• Excellent organizational and project management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver under pressure.
• Personable, confident, and relationship-focused; natural connector with strong negotiation skills.
• Intellectual curiosity about culture, social media, emerging creators, and trends in the creator economy.
• Exceptional ability to influence and collaborate across cross-functional teams without direct authority.

Preferred Experience:

• Background at social-first agencies, creator-focused companies, or influencer marketing agencies.
• Leadership experience in high-growth agency environments or scaled creator economy platforms.
• Track record of positioning or rebranding agencies to win new business.
• Client-side or brand marketing experience, providing unique insight into client challenges and marketing objectives.

Salary Range

$190,000.00 - $240,000.00
