Overview
We are seeking a Vice President of eCommerce to lead and scale a growing direct-to-consumer digital commerce business.
This role will own the performance and evolution of the companys digital storefront, subscription commerce, marketplace channels, and overall eCommerce strategy. The VP will be accountable for driving digital revenue while improving the end-to-end customer experiencefrom acquisition and product discovery through conversion, subscription, and retention.
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring both strong commercial instincts and meaningful technical depth. The right person will understand how the technology behind an eCommerce business works, be able to identify and diagnose issues, and effectively partner with or challenge technical teams and developers.
What Youll Be Doing
Own overall eCommerce strategy and digital revenue performance.
Lead the strategy and optimization of a Shopify Plus storefront.
Own key performance metrics including conversion rate, revenue per visitor, average order value, subscription growth, retention, and overall digital revenue.
Evaluate and continuously improve the end-to-end online customer journey.
Lead site merchandising strategy, including product presentation, bundles, collections, cross-sells, and upsells.
Develop and execute a strong experimentation and A/B testing strategy across landing pages, product pages, checkout, and conversion funnels.
Own and optimize subscription commerce, including enrollment, renewal, retention, and lifetime value.
Oversee Amazon marketplace performance, including agency or internal resources, advertising, listings, and marketplace growth.
Own the Shopify Plus technology ecosystem, including integrations, applications, and the broader eCommerce roadmap.
Play a significant leadership role in a major website redesign/rebuild initiative.
Partner closely with marketing, technology, product, analytics, and other business leaders to improve digital performance.
Build reporting and analytics that connect customer behavior, marketing activity, and site performance to revenue outcomes.
Identify new digital commerce opportunities through testing, technology, customer behavior, and marketplace trends.
Build and develop the eCommerce function as the business continues to scale.
Communicate performance, priorities, opportunities, and recommendations to executive leadership.
What Were Looking For
10+ years of progressive eCommerce experience with significant leadership responsibility.
Strong experience owning and growing a direct-to-consumer eCommerce business.
Deep Shopify or Shopify Plus experience.
Strong technical understanding of eCommerce platforms, integrations, applications, and digital technology stacks.
Ability to independently assess technical issues and effectively work with engineering and development teams.
Experience leading multiple website launches, redesigns, or major eCommerce rebuilds.
Strong understanding of conversion rate optimization, digital merchandising, product detail pages, checkout optimization, and customer journey design.
Experience with subscription-based products, services, or membership models.
Amazon marketplace experience, either through direct ownership or management of internal teams or agency partners.
Experience with eCommerce analytics and performance measurement tools such as GA4, Shopify Analytics, and business intelligence platforms.
Strong understanding of digital acquisition and how paid media, landing experiences, and on-site conversion work together.
Experience owning or influencing eCommerce P&L and revenue performance.
Strong leadership and executive communication skills.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who sits at the intersection of
eCommerce growth, technology, and customer experience.
You should be equally comfortable reviewing conversion performance, improving a product page, evaluating a subscription experience, discussing an integration with a developer, or determining whether the underlying technology is limiting growth.
This is not a role for someone who has only managed the commercial or merchandising side of eCommerce. The strongest candidate will have built, rebuilt, or significantly evolved digital commerce environments and will be comfortable getting into the details when necessary.
We are also open to an accomplished Director-level eCommerce leader who has operated at significant scale and is ready to step into their first VP opportunity.
