    About the Organization

    A well-established nonprofit organization dedicated to providing year-round sports training and athletic competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities is seeking a Director of Finance & Administration. Through Olympic-type sports programming, this organization empowers athletes to develop physical fitness, build friendships, demonstrate courage, and engage meaningfully with their families and communities.     Position Overview

    This senior leadership role oversees the full scope of financial and administrative operations for the organization, including accounting, budgeting, payroll, human resources, technology, facilities, and compliance. The Director of Finance & Administration serves as a key strategic partner to the President & CEO and acts as the primary staff liaison to the Board of Directors and Finance Committee.

    Key Responsibilities

    Financial Management

    • Oversee and manage all budgets, forecasts, and internal financial plans, including multi-year projections
    • Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to monitor, evaluate, and optimize cash flow and liquidity
    • Establish annual financial priorities and benchmarks; conduct regular performance reporting measuring projections against actual results
    • Maintain a schedule of fixed assets, acquisitions, and depreciation
    • Manage all aspects of the annual audit and Form 990 preparation and submission

    Compliance & Risk

    • Manage all internal and external compliance programs associated with state and federal regulatory agencies
    • Oversee the review and renewal of all organizational insurance policies
    • Ensure appropriate financial controls are in place across all operational areas

    Administration & Operations

    • Oversee office facilities, technology, and equipment, ensuring adequate controls and operational efficiency
    • Act as staff liaison to the Board of Directors and Finance Committee

    Human Resources

    • Oversee all HR functions including recruitment, personnel records management, legal compliance, compensation, benefits administration, and the employee evaluation process

    General

    • Perform other duties as assigned by the President & CEO

    Qualifications

    Required:

    • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
    • Minimum 5 years of financial management experience within a nonprofit organization
    • 5–8 years of accounting and finance experience with progressive responsibility
    • Demonstrated experience working with external auditors and managing regulatory compliance
    • Working knowledge of QuickBooks and Salesforce platforms
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
    • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills
