Job Details

We are seeking a Vice President of Human Resources to serve as a strategic partner to the executive leadership team during a period of significant growth and organizational evolution. This is a high-visibility, high-impact role for a business-minded HR leader who thrives in fast-paced environments, embraces change, and enjoys building while doing. The VP of HR will have a true seat at the table and play a central role in shaping culture, talent strategy, leadership development, and operational scaling. This is a full-time, in-office position based in the western suburbs of Chicago.

Responsibilities include serving as a trusted advisor to the senior leadership team on organizational strategy, workforce planning, and culture; leading the HR function with a hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves approach across recruiting, employee relations, performance management, compensation, compliance, and organizational development; coaching and developing managers through growth, change, and operational pressure; building and scaling HR processes and infrastructure to support the next phase of growth without sacrificing speed or agility; driving a high-performance culture rooted in ownership, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement; supporting M&A integration efforts as the company pursues acquisitions; and attracting, developing, and retaining high-performing talent in a demanding, high-accountability environment.

The ideal candidate brings 8+ years of progressive HR leadership experience with a track record of partnering directly with executive teams. Experience in PE-backed, high-growth, or rapidly evolving organizations is strongly preferred. M&A experience is a plus. Candidates should have both small-company agility and larger-organization polish, with a minimum of lower middle market experience. Industry-specific logistics experience is not required.

Beyond technical qualifications, we are looking for a leader with strong behavioral competencies: comfort with ambiguity, an agile and self-driven learning mindset, confidence balanced with humility, exceptional work ethic and discipline, a love of solving complex problems, strong critical thinking skills, and a natural sense of urgency and attention to detail. This person combines strategic thinking with exceptional execution, operates with grit and resilience, and builds trust and credibility at every level of the organization.
We are looking for candidates with stable, progressive career trajectories who are energized by the opportunity to build, shape, and drive meaningful organizational impact.
