VP of MedMal IUnderwriting (Hybrid, Jacksonville)

Kforce has a client in need of a VP of MedMal Insurance Underwriting in Jacksonville, FL. This role will work within a hybrid schedule - the company will consider out of area candidates who are willing to relocate. Responsibilities:

• Lead and develop underwriting professionals through coaching, mentoring, and performance management
• Establish team objectives and support execution of business and operational goals
• Oversee risk assessment, pricing decisions, and policy review activities to ensure quality and consistency
• Monitor underwriting performance metrics and implement strategies to improve profitability and portfolio results
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance customer experience, service delivery, and business growth
• Manage relationships with brokers, partners, and key stakeholders to support retention and new business initiatives
• Review and approve complex account decisions while providing guidance on underwriting authority
• Contribute to process improvement efforts, regulatory compliance initiatives, and operational best practices
• Partner with leadership to identify emerging risks, support product enhancements, and improve underwriting strategies
• Foster a positive, accountable, and collaborative team culture aligned with organizational values
• Prepare and present business results, trends, and recommendations to senior leadership
• Lead special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Advanced insurance industry designations or progress toward certification preferred
• 10+ years of commercial insurance underwriting, claims, product development, or related experience
• 8+ years of leadership experience managing underwriting or insurance operations teams
• Strong knowledge of risk evaluation, pricing principles, policy interpretation, and coverage analysis
• Experience driving business performance, profitability, and operational improvements
• Proven ability to lead teams, develop talent, and manage change in a fast-paced environment
• Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and relationship management abilities
• Experience collaborating across business functions to achieve strategic objectives
