Salary: $222,000.00 - $299,700.00 per year 

 

The expected compensation range for this position is from the minimum to midpoint of the pay grade. Actual compensation will be based on factors such as experience, education, and organization fit.

This position is eligible for participation in the annual bonus program

 

 

How you'll make an impact in this role:

ABMC is seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO) who is a true "operator’s operator." This role is heavily and intensely focused on day-to-day operations, driving rapid operational improvements, and taking direct accountability for financial, clinical, and quality outcomes.

The ideal candidate thrives in the weeds of execution, possesses deep contract management and vendor procurement expertise, has a proven track record leading large capital projects (including construction), and brings strong experience overseeing complex clinical service lines, such as cardiac and surgical services.

 

• Formulate policies and strategic plans for future growth.
• Plan, direct and coordinate overall daily operations.
• Responsible for building relationships to establish partnerships and affiliations.
• Direct operational efficiency and improvement to meet financial targets and collaborate to establish control systems for accountability.
• Collaborate to plan and organize staffing, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, and educating in support of operational objectives.

 

What minimum qualifications you'll need:

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Nursing Home Administrator preferred.

Education:

• Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree with 7 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required, with 4 of those years being in leadership/management. OR 7 years of experience required. 10 years of experience preferred. 5 years of leadership or management experience preferred.

Key Qualifications & Requirements

• Senior Leadership Experience: 5 to 7 years of executive/senior leadership experience as a dedicated operator in a healthcare setting.
• Proven Operational Execution: Demonstrated track record as a hands-on leader focused on driving efficiency, streamlining clinical/administrative workflows, and delivering tangible operational improvements.
• Metric-Driven Accountability: Deep experience establishing, tracking, and meeting aggressive performance metrics to optimize operational throughput, quality outcomes, and financial performance within a highly metric-driven organization.
• Contract Management & Procurement: Extensive background in vendor management, strategic procurement, and negotiating/managing complex healthcare operational, physician, and vendor contracts.
• Capital Project & Construction Management: Direct experience leading large capital projects, facility expansions, infrastructure upgrades, and major construction initiatives from planning through execution.

• Financial & Quality Acumen: Direct P&L oversight, budgetary discipline, clinical quality metric achievement, and regulatory compliance expertise.

Preferred Qualifications

• Surgical Service Line Experience: Direct operational experience managing surgical services, operating rooms (OR), or procedural areas is a strong plus.
• Complex Cardiac Service Line Experience: Hands-on operational management or executive oversight of a complex cardiac service line (e.g., cardiovascular services, cath labs, and open-heart programs) is a strong plus.
