ABOUT THE ROLE

Our client, a globally established financial institution with a significant U.S. Markets presence, is seeking a VP-level Valuation Risk professional to support both Credit and Rates businesses. This is a high-impact role sitting within the firm s risk organization, responsible for overseeing valuation integrity across a broad range of complex products. The position offers strong visibility to senior stakeholders, exposure to both flow and structured products, and the opportunity to drive enhancements across valuation frameworks, controls, and strategic initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee Independent Price Verification (IPV) processes across Credit and Rates products, including derivatives and structured instruments
• Manage end-to-end valuation controls including fair value adjustments, prudent valuation, Day 1 P&L, and model governance
• Partner closely with Front Office, Quants, and Trading desks to review valuation outputs, challenge assumptions, and support new business activity
• Act as a key escalation point for valuation-related issues, providing clear communication and resolution across senior stakeholders
• Develop and enhance valuation methodologies, ensuring consistency with market practices and regulatory expectations
• Lead strategic initiatives including system implementations, process automation, and control optimization (including AI-driven enhancements where applicable)
• Maintain and strengthen the valuation control framework, including policies, procedures, and governance standards
• Interface with internal audit, external auditors, and regulators on valuation-related topics
• Collaborate with global teams to ensure alignment on valuation practices and control standards across regions
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to team development, with potential oversight of offshore resources
