The VRF Piping Mechanic is responsible for installing and supporting Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) piping systems on commercial mechanical projects.
This role requires strong brazing and copper piping skills, the ability to read mechanical drawings, and collaboration with project managers, HVAC technicians, and other trades to ensure projects are completed safely and efficiently.
Install VRF refrigerant piping systems according to manufacturer specifications
Install condensate piping, insulation, hangers, and support systems
Measure, cut, fabricate, and assemble copper refrigerant piping
Perform brazing, soldering, pressure testing, and leak detection
Coordinate piping connections with indoor and outdoor VRF units
Assist with system testing, commissioning, and startup
Troubleshoot and repair VRF piping systems when needed
Collaborate with electricians, general contractors, and other trades on job sites
Maintain accurate work documentation and daily reports
Keep job sites clean, organized, and safe
Follow OSHA safety standards and company policies

Commercial HVAC construction projects
3+ years of HVAC piping installation experience
1+ year of hands-on VRF system installation experience
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings
Strong brazing and copper pipe fabrication skills
Ability to work independently or as part of a team
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
