    The Wage & Salary Coordinator is a vital and supportive member of the PCSD team, working collaboratively with educators, support staff, and administration to achieve the shared goal of ensuring all students receive the education they need to succeed both today and tomorrow. This role is performed within a office environment, overseen by Director of Employee Relations, where teamwork and dedication to student success are paramount.

    All staff are expected to fully adhere to the ethical standards set forth by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission, continuously demonstrating a strong understanding of the tasks and responsibilities their roles require. Moreover, they must embody the core belief that every action we take is driven by a commitment to the best interests of our students.

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Position Title: Wage and Salary Coordinator

    Salary Schedule: PCSD Classified

    Department: Human Resources

    Job Code: 247301

    Reports To: Director of Employee Services

    Work Schedule: Annual/8 hours per day

    Grade/Level: CLCOR

    FLSA: Exempt

    Primary Function: Administer the District's wage and salary processes, ensuring accurate employee compensation, timely payroll coordination, and compliance with Board policy and applicable laws.

    Qualifications:

    Minimum of a high school diploma or GED

    Three (3) years' experiences in Human Resources, payroll, or related field

    The Board of Education and the Superintendent may accept alternatives to some of the above requirements.

    Essential Functions:

    1.

    Administer and maintain the District's wage and salary system, salary schedules, and employee work calendars in accordance with Board policy and applicable state and federal laws.

    2.

    Review and evaluate relevant work experience for placement on the pay scale for certified and classified employees in accordance with Board policy, State and Federal laws.

    3.

    Process and verify payroll-impacting employee changes, including new hires, certificate upgrades, transfers, resignations, retirements, leaves without pay, payouts, JROTC adjustments, food service hourly reallocations, and applicable personal-information changes.

    4.

    Manage processes related to requests for employment, experience, and salary verification for current and former employees, including requests related to personal loans and loan-forgiveness programs.

    5.

    Coordinate compensation and payroll workflows among Human Resources, Payroll, Business Services, and Technology to support accurate and timely processing.

    6.

    Research and resolve employee questions and concerns regarding salary placement, compensation changes, and payroll-related matters.

    7.

    Coordinate the annual salary increase and step-advancement process for certified and classified employees.

    8.

    Creates and maintains multiple work calendars and all district salary schedules.

    9.

    Verify all changes for current payroll match payroll calculations when processing transfers, payouts, and certificate upgrades.

    10.

    Create and maintain job tables, position control tables and associated PCNs.

    11.

    Maintain current knowledge of compensation practices, legal requirements, and Human Resources and payroll systems through appropriate professional development.

    12.

    Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee
