Job Description

McBride Homes is seeking an experienced residential Wall Panel Designer to join our team. As a designer you will be responsible for designing building components such as manufactured wood framed wall panels and/or manufactured floor systems. This role will support all projects from design to production. This position will be located on site at our corporate office in Chesterfield, MO.McBride is Missouri's largest home builder and is an industry leader in residential new home construction. Mcride offers competitive compensation, outstanding benefits, 401 (k) plan, paid vacation, and many company outings!Top reasons to work with us:Growth opportunitiesDiverse Project ListGreat Company CultureExcellent compensationState of the art production software and office spacesDominant market leaderSalary Range: $60,000 - $100,000/yr. depending on experience and an annual, discretionary bonus programKey Responsibilities:Use both structural and architectural plans to produce wall panel component drawings within a CAD based systemGenerate completed drawings into 3D for review and analysisStrong knowledge of floor, wall and roof systemsResolve architectural and structural design conflictsPerform wall panel material take offs and produce materials list (BOM)Coordinate design closely with manager and plant operationsEnsure design deadlines are hit to meet production schedulesClarify any specifications and answer questions from production floor and field construction staffPerform occasional post manufacturing/installation job site visits (design review)Demonstrates a strong working knowledge of the capabilities for the factory equipment and products highly cost effective and production friendly component designsRequired Qualifications:Minimum associates degree in a technical program3+ years of experience designing wall components or related shop drawings3+ year of intense CAD experienceMitek Structure experienceStrong knowledge of residential framing best practicesAbility to read and understand construction plans and drawingsOrganized, detail oriented with excellent communication skillsWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and OutlookResidential carpentry experience strongly preferred. McBride is an equal opportunity employer.
