Job Title: Warehouse Analyst - Manufacturing Support
Location: Chicago, IL
Pay Rate: $22.50/hour
Job Type: Contract – 6 Months

Job Summary

  • We are seeking an Analyst, Manufacturing Support – Warehouse to support daily warehouse and logistics operations while ensuring efficiency, compliance, and service excellence. This role will focus on inventory accuracy, shipment coordination, warehouse system monitoring, KPI tracking, and collaboration with internal teams and third-party logistics providers.
  • The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, warehouse operations experience, and proficiency in SAP and Excel.

Key Responsibilities:

Warehouse & Inventory Operations:

  • Review and resolve stock discrepancies between SAP and warehouse management systems.
  • Perform stock reconciliation and maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Monitor warehouse capacity utilization, productivity, and operational KPIs.
  • Manage warehouse supply inventory and pallet control.

Shipping & Logistics Coordination:

  • Maintain records of inbound and outbound shipments.
  • Schedule carrier appointments and follow up on driver arrivals/departures.
  • Build outbound loads and coordinate product transfers between bakery and offsite warehouses.
  • Track trailer inventory stored in yard locations.
  • Ensure timely truck departures and communicate delays to appropriate teams.

Compliance & Quality Support:

  • Ensure compliance with health & safety, food defense, HACCP, legal, and company policies.
  • Support shelf-life monitoring to reduce waste and write-offs.
  • Coordinate disposal of expired packaging materials according to company procedures.
  • Handle donation, take-home, and animal feed shipments.

 

Reporting & Continuous Improvement:

  • Support annual budgeting, cost analysis, risk identification, and opportunity planning.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives, tenders, and peak season planning.
  • Work with third-party vendors to improve service levels and operational efficiency.

 

Equipment & General Support:

  • Operate telehandler for loading/unloading when required.
  • Provide clerical and administrative support for warehouse shipping office operations.
  • Assist warehouse operators during shifts as needed.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience in warehouse operations, logistics, supply chain, or manufacturing support.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially advanced Excel.
  • Experience with ERP systems; SAP R3 preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with third-party logistics providers (3PL).
  • Knowledge of inventory controls, shipping processes, and KPI reporting.
  • Forklift or telehandler experience is a plus.
