Position Summary The FSI Warehouse Assistant Manager provides daily operational support to ensure accurate receiving, put away, inventory control, picking, packaging, labeling, truck scheduling, and shipment execution for the Edison, NJ facility. This role supports the Warehouse Manager and Operations team to maintain inventory accuracy, optimize bin locations, ensure correct product identification, and uphold quality standards while keeping NetSuite updated for accurate shipping and invoicing. Key Responsibilities - Receiving & Put away - Support coordination of inbound receiving, verification of product condition, and accurate put away into designated bin locations.
- Inventory Strategy & Accuracy - Maintain inventory integrity through cycle counts, bin audits, and optimization of storage locations.
- Picking & Order Preparation - Ensure correct picking of units, adherence to serial number capture, and validation of packing lists before shipment.
- Packaging & Pallet Standards - Verify use of correct packaging materials, pallet types, and labeling attachments to ensure proper product identification.
- Labeling & Identification - Confirm all units have accurate labels securely attached and readable for downstream processes.
- Truck Scheduling & Routing - Assist in scheduling outbound trucks, verifying routing, and ensuring the right products are loaded onto the correct carriers.
- Shipment Accuracy - Validate that shipments match customer requirements and internal documentation before release.
- ERP System Updates - Ensure all shipping, receiving, and inventory transactions are accurately entered in our Systems to support correct invoicing and daily operational reporting.
- Quality Verification - Inspect products for visible defects, packaging issues, or labeling inconsistencies prior to shipment.
- Operational Coordination - Work closely with warehouse leads, QC, and operations management to resolve discrepancies and maintain workflow efficiency. Implement Quality and EHS Procedures, write/update Standard Operating Procedures and support implementing Procedures.
- Resources and Organization - support hire and performance assessment of current and future staff and support team training and development.
Required Skills & Qualifications - Experience in warehouse operations, distribution, or logistics.
- Strong understanding of receiving, Put away, picking, and shipping processes.
- Ability to identify labeling, packaging, and serial number discrepancies.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred).
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
Preferred Qualifications - Experience in appliance / furniture distribution or manufacturing.
- Prior exposure to inventory control or bin optimization.
- Forklift certification (optional but beneficial).
- Experience with truck routing or carrier coordination.
Physical & Warehouse Requirements - Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
- Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures.
- Ability to inspect units, pallets, and labels with attention to detail.
KPIs & Performance Expectations - Inventory accuracy (cycle count variance, bin accuracy).
- Picking accuracy and serial number capture compliance.
- On-time shipment release and truck scheduling adherence.
- NetSuite transaction accuracy and timeliness.
- Reduction of labeling/packaging errors.
- Overall quality compliance of outbound units.
