Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Warehouse Manager to support overall warehouse operations, with a strong focus on shipping, receiving, inventory accuracy, and cross-functional coordination with the packaging department. This role partners closely with the Warehouse Manager, Packaging leadership and shipping/receiving leads to ensure smooth, efficient daily operations. The Assistant Warehouse Manager also plays a key role in maintaining operational readiness, safety compliance, and staffing effectiveness across all shifts. This position requires flexibility, including evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business needs. The pay range for this role is fixed at $55,000 to $70,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Candidates with strong, relevant experience may be offered salaries toward the higher end of the range, while those earlier in their careers can expect offers aligned with the entry level of the range.   
Essential Functions:
  • Open and close the facilities, ensuring the building is secure, systems are operational, and staff are prepared for daily operations.
  • Assist the Warehouse Manager in supervising daily warehouse operations.
  • Oversee inbound and outbound shipments to ensure accurate receiving, proper documentation, and timely shipment of orders.
  • Manage inventory accuracy through cycle counts, audits, and reconciliation of discrepancies.
  • Partner with the Packaging Supervisor to align warehouse and packaging workflows, address operational challenges, and support on-time production and shipment schedules.
  • Supervise, coach, train, and support warehouse personnel, including task assignments, performance monitoring, and employee development.
  • Provide administrative support through web-based time and attendance systems.
  • Identify and support process improvements to streamline warehouse and packaging coordinator and increase efficiency.
  • Ensure accurate picking, staging, and coordination of packaging and shipping activities.
  • Enforce safety protocols, OSHA standards, and company policies to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
  • Conduct inspections of forklifts and company vehicles as required.
  • Assist with employee discipline in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Work beyond standard business hours as needed to support operations, projects, and required shipments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven supervisory and leadership ability
  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations, workflows, and best practices
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills
  • Basic computer skills and experience with ERP or warehouse management systems
  • Strong organizational and decision-making skills
Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Prior experience supervising warehouse teams and managing operational workflows required.
  • Bachelor’s degree required. 
  • Experience with inventory systems, ERP platforms, and warehouse technology
  • Spanish language skills (a plus)
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Direct oversight of warehouse employees across multiple functions
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Frequent bending, squatting, reaching, and repetitive movements
  • Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds
Work Environment:
  • This position is based in a high-activity warehouse with a moderate noise-level.
Travel:
  • Minimal local travel for pickups and deliveries if needed.
