The kitting/warehouse associate primary function is to accurately move components, both physically and electronically (SAP), to the production floor for manufacture and completion of orders. In addition, the kitting/warehouse associate will also disperse production and shipping supplies to the floor using Kanban system as required. The kitting/warehouse associate coordinates the "RED TAG" system for orders that have material shortages and provides the necessary materials for "SCRAP" replacement on production orders. The kitting/warehouse associate also records and adjusts SAP for any material removed by shop personnel using the "MATERIAL REMOVAL LOG".
The kitting/warehouse associate will receive cross-training as a receiving/banding/lagging associate and will serve as the assigned backup for each role as required. Additionally, the associate will engage in conducting physical inventory. NWS undertakes a physical inventory assessment at the conclusion of each quarter.
The main duty of the receiving associate involves loading and unloading all trucks, containers, and vans, along with inspecting all deliveries for visible damage. This includes verifying the counts of pallets, boxes, and reels, as well as checking the accuracy of part numbers, quantities, and serial numbers when applicable for each received product. Additionally, it is the receiver's task to ensure that all products are placed into their designated bins. The receiver also oversees the removal/disposal of archived shipping/receiving records, and the upkeep of the receiving area by organizing paperwork, disposing of old pallets, and keeping the loading docks clean.
The responsibility of the Banding/Lagging associate includes securing loads with straps to ensure stabilization, reinforcement, and protection of products during handling, storage, and transport. Corrugated plastic wrap must be used to protect reels, which should be secured to a pallet.
Internally, this position will deal with the following departments: Production/Engineering Manager, Supervisor, Production Control, Manufacturing Production leads and Cable Cut Associate. Due to this constant interaction, this position requires good communication skills, excellent note taking and attention to detail, and a positive disposition. The NWS Kitting Associate must be task and team oriented.
