Opsource Staffing in Spartanburg has partnered with a local recycling center in Spartanburg, SC.
Pay rate: $14.00/hr.
Shift: 1st shift
Job requirements: The primary duty of the job consists of breaking down/dismantling electronic waste (computers, printers, etc.) equipment using hand tools and sorting various components by category or materials. You may also be asked to help in the shipping/receiving department. This will require forklift experience, as you will have to operate a sit-down forklift when working in shipping/receiving.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each task in a satisfactory manner. Additional minor duties may be assigned.
- Follow all required safety and personal protective equipment facility guidelines, including the use of a respirator, as required.
- Conduct daily pre- and post- shift safety inspection of equipment.
- Keep work area clean of debris and maintain good housekeeping.
- Ensure proper labeling and container requirements are met.
Qualifications:
- Must be able to pass a respirator fit test with Occupational health (if in the lamp room).
- Must be able to pass a background check.
- Must be able to pass a drug test.
- Must have your own transportation to and from work.
Important Information:
- This facility recycles light bulbs containing mercury, so associates must be aware of the possibility of exposure.
- Associates’ main responsibility will be to sort recycled goods in the warehouse, but they may also be required to work in the lamp room from time to time.
- Respirators are required when working in the lamp room due to the mercury containing bulbs.
