Overview

We are seeking a Warehouse Associate to support daily warehouse operations in a customer facing, non distribution environment. This role focuses on manual order picking, stocking, and assisting walk in customers. Unlike large distribution centers, this position involves pulling mixed size orders by hand, ensuring materials are accurately received, stored, and staged.
This is a union eligible position if converted to full time.

Responsibilities

  • Manually pick customer and internal orders using hands, carts, ladders, and order pickers (not forklift only work)
  • Accurately pull, verify, and stage orders by part number and bin location (no RF scanners used)
  • Assist customers at the will call counter, including locating items and loading orders into customer vehicles
  • Receive inbound materials, verify shipments, and stock items in correct locations
  • Prepare and process outbound UPS and LTL shipments
  • Operate an order picker at heights up to 20 feet
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment
  • Support general warehouse functions, including stocking, inventory accuracy, and material handling
  • Occasionally operate a forklift (experience preferred, not required)

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of warehouse experience
  • Experience manually pulling orders using hands, carts, ladders, or order pickers
(Candidates with experience limited to forklift only or full pallet distribution environments may not be a fit)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Strong attention to detail when working with part numbers and bin locations
  • Comfortable assisting customers in a face to face environment
  • Ability to work at heights up to 20 feet

Preferred Qualifications

  • Forklift or order picker experience
  • Experience with receiving, stocking, and inventory management
  • Product knowledge or the ability to learn products quickly
  • Background in environments that combine order pulling, customer interaction, and stocking

Work Environment & Role Comparison

This role is best compared to a combination of:
  • A retail curbside order picker who manually pulls and stages orders
  • A floor associate who assists customers with locating items
  • A stocker who receives and places materials in correct locations
This is not a high volume distribution warehouse where full pallets are moved all day by forklift.
