- Communicating: Warehouse associates communicate with other team members.
- Entering data: Warehouse associates enter data into software programs such as an inventory and/or record-keeping system.
- Training new team members: Warehouse associates may informally train new team members.
- Operating equipment: Warehouse associates may operate equipment such as forklifts, pallet movers, swing-reach trucks, and pickers.
- Using work orders: Warehouse associates often receive instructions via work orders, which indicate which tasks have approval from upper management.
- Receiving and storing: Warehouse associates receive, sort, and store incoming products. They may also welcome delivery trucks.
- Processing and packing: Warehouse associates process and pack orders for shipment. They may also load delivery vans.
- Maintaining inventory: Warehouse associates maintain inventory levels and restock as needed. They may also place orders for new materials.
- Inspecting products: Warehouse associates inspect products for damage and report as needed.
