Warehouse Associate, Packaging Operations

Location: Mount Prospect, IL 60056
Pay Rate: $22.00/hour
Schedule: Tuesday through Saturday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM
Work Environment: Onsite, Warehouse

Hands-On Warehouse Opportunity

We are seeking a dependable, hardworking Warehouse Associate to support packaging and day-to-day warehouse operations in Mount Prospect, IL.

This is a VERY physical, hands-on position. Candidates must be comfortable being on their feet throughout the shift, performing repetitive tasks, bending, lifting, carrying, cleaning, assembling packaging, and regularly handling materials weighing up to 50 lbs.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys staying active, takes pride in maintaining a clean and organized work environment, and can balance physical warehouse responsibilities with basic computer and documentation tasks.

Key Responsibilities

Packaging and Warehouse Operations

• Inspect, clean, refurbish, assemble, and break down reusable packaging materials according to established standards
• Prepare packaging for reuse and redeployment
• Perform quality checks and identify damaged or non-reusable packaging
• Download temperature monitor data and assist with related investigations
• Replenish dry ice shipments as required
• Process packaging and shipment information through transportation management systems
• Assist with airline shipment bookings as needed
• Move materials throughout the warehouse using manual and/or electric pallet jacks

Facility Maintenance

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment
• Regularly empty trash and recycling receptacles
• Keep workstations, staging areas, and common spaces clean and free of hazards
• Support general warehouse housekeeping throughout the shift

Systems and Documentation

• Accurately enter packaging inventory and status information into internal systems
• Upload, organize, and maintain digital documentation
• Ensure records are complete, accurate, and easily accessible
• Follow established procedures for data entry and document management

Safety and Compliance

• Follow all company policies, standard operating procedures, and workplace safety requirements
• Properly handle packaging materials, equipment, and warehouse supplies
• Participate in required safety meetings and training

Required Qualifications

• Ability to regularly lift, carry, and maneuver up to 50 lbs. independently
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods and perform frequent bending, lifting, reaching, and repetitive movements
• General experience operating manual and/or electric pallet jacks
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Basic computer skills and ability to perform data entry and digital document management
• Dependable attendance and punctuality
• Ability to work independently while also contributing to a team environment
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically demanding warehouse setting

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous warehouse, distribution, logistics, or manufacturing experience
• Experience with reusable packaging or packaging operations
• Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems, WMS, Transportation Management Systems, TMS, or inventory tracking software
