Warehouse Assistant I
To sort, store, pull and pack laminate in order to meet the needs of the customers and provide quality service. Perform other tasks as required. These positions will work nights 9:00 pm - 7:00 am. They could work split shift and could require working weekends.
ESSENTAIL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Put up finished product into bins as assigned
Based on order sheet, pull material from appropriate bins to fill the orders and place them on table.
Using the order sheet, pack the customer order using the customer packaging specifications (carts, skids, crates, cartons)
Make build-ups and band skids for completed orders to prevent damage and ensure safe delivery.
Perform all documentation required for the packing process.
Operate the slitter to create 30-inch material for customer orders.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
Place defective material in reject box
Change batteries and propane tank for the forklifts and schrecks as needed.
Maintain paperwork
Regular attendance required
Performs other position appropriate duties as required in a competent, professional and courteous manner.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
High School Diploma/Equivalency or will consider a combination of relevant education and experience.
EXPERIENCE:
One year of work experience
WORKING CONDITIONS
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Heavy work. Job requires pushing or pulling 90lbs, lifting 20lbs from the floor to an overhead level, carrying 20lbs and standing and walking during a minimum 10-hour shift. Must be able to reach 84 inches.
Operate forklift and equivalent equipment in a safe manner.
ENVIRONMENT:
Located in an indoor area with frequent exposure to mild physical discomfort from dust and fumes, temperature extremes, loud noises and bright lights. Examples: mail clerks, material handlers and food service workers.
