Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for accurate and effective receiving, stocking, distributing, and shipping of all Bassett Healthcare supplies and equipment.

  • Accurately receives, stocks, distributes and ships all Bassett Healthcare supplies and equipment.
  • Inspects all shipments, reporting any damages, shortages, and incorrect shipments to the appropriate buyer by the end of the day of receipt, as measured by feedback and supervisory review.
  • Accurately receives items in INFOR materials management system with minimal errors, as measured by feedback, supervisory review, and buyer messages.
  • Files all packing slips and delivery tickets, in a timely and accurate manner as measured by supervisory review.
  • Orders, restocks, and adjusts par level inventories as appropriate, cooperatively working with clinical areas and/or inventory control coordinator in maintaining med/surg supply needs as measured by customer feedback
  • Checks and maintains product expiration dates and package integrity as measured by supervisory observation.
  • Stocks shelves and issues product according to departmental policy and FIFO procedure as measured by supervisory observation.
  • Maintains clean, safe, and orderly work areas as measured by supervisory observation.
  • Issues correct product and quantity in Lawson system as measured by customer feedback and supervisory review of pick lists.
  • Picks packs and ships stock items appropriately as measured by supervisory observation and review of pick lists, as well as customer feedback.
  • Demonstrates a knowledge and understanding of the proper handling of sharps.
  • Participates in routine and year-end inventory counts as measured by supervisory observation.
  • Delivers products to the proper location/individual by the end of the day as measured by customer feedback and supervisory observation.
  • Obtains appropriate receipt signature for all deliveries as measured by supervisory review of Delivery Slips.
  • Completes vehicle inspections and submits documentation according to departmental policy as measured by supervisory observation and review of vehicle check lists.
  • Utilizes Bar-Code scanning equipment (currently Lawson MSCM) appropriately and according to procedure as measured by supervisory review.
  • Keeps well informed regarding Bassett Healthcare, optimizes communication, and promotes the integrity and reputation of the department and institution
  • Answers and responds to telephone and/or pager calls properly, directing unanswered questions/concerns to the appropriate individual/department as measured by customer feedback and supervisory observation.
  • Actively participates in training programs and departmental and divisional meetings as measured by supervisory observation.
  • Will follow all Bassett Healthcare policies and procedures as measured by supervisory observation
  • Performs similar or related duties as requested or directed.
Qualifications:

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Experience:

  • Warehouse or healthcare inventory supply experience preferred.

License/Certification:

  • Valid and clean NYS Driver's License preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Medium Work - Exerting up to 50 lbs. for force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
  • Occasional balancing and climbing.
  • Frequent crouching, grasping, hearing, kneeling, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, stooping, talking, walking, visual acuity (color, depth, perception).
  • Constant typing/clerical/dexterity, repetitive motion, standing, seeing/monitor/computer use.

Hazards:

  • Occasional bodily fluids/bloodborne exposure, burns, chemical, mechanical.

Working Conditions:

  • Occasional extreme temperature, noise, vibration, wet and/or humid, dust, fumes, gases, mists, odors.

Travel:

  • Occasional Travel - The job may require travel from time- to-time, but not on a regular basis.
