Test Technician

Summary

We are seeking a hands-on Test Technician to join a growing automation and controls manufacturing team. In this role, you will perform electrical testing, system validation, and troubleshooting of industrial control panels and automation equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience working with electrical systems, testing equipment, and control panels in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform power-up and functional testing of electrical control panels operating at voltages up to 480VAC, 3-phase.
  • Upload and verify PLC programs during system testing and commissioning.
  • Connect and test field devices including motors, sensors, switches, and other control components.
  • Conduct system-level testing to ensure equipment performs according to specifications.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and control system issues and document findings.
  • Create photo documentation of completed panels and assemblies.
  • Update engineering drawings with as-built changes and support Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
  • Assist with creating and maintaining testing procedures and documentation.
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing and production teams as needed.
  • Safely operate pallet jacks and lift materials up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronics Technology, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of electrical testing experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience testing electrical control panels is highly preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Familiarity with UL508A and IPC-A-620 standards is a plus.
  • Experience using electrical test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and related diagnostic tools.
  • Strong understanding of electrical theory, components, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Thorough knowledge of Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures and electrical safety practices.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, PDF creation, digital cameras, and cloud-based file storage systems.
