Warehouse Associate – Freight Forwarding & Logistics

Position Summary

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Warehouse Associate to support daily warehouse operations within a fast-paced freight forwarding environment. This role is responsible for receiving, handling, storing, staging, and shipping domestic and international freight while ensuring accuracy, safety, and compliance with company and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming freight against shipping documents and purchase orders
  • Accurately label, sort, palletize, and stage cargo for outbound shipments
  • Load and unload trucks, containers, and air/ocean freight shipments safely and efficiently
  • Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through scanning, cycle counts, and warehouse management systems (WMS)
  • Prepare shipping documentation, including bills of lading, packing lists, and freight labels
  • Ensure cargo is packaged and secured according to transportation and safety standards
  • Assist with cross-docking, consolidation, and deconsolidation of freight
  • Maintain clean and organized warehouse areas in compliance with OSHA and company safety policies
  • Communicate with warehouse supervisors, drivers, and operations teams regarding shipment status and discrepancies
  • Follow all TSA, DOT, HazMat, and security procedures as applicable

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Previous warehouse, logistics, freight forwarding, or distribution experience preferred
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification
  • Basic computer skills and experience using scanners or warehouse systems
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
  • Good communication and time management skills

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs regularly
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods
