Job SummaryThe Warehouse CDL Manager will oversee and coordinate the entire warehouse operations.Hours and WagesExempt salary position Typical Shift: Mon-Friday 4:30pm-3:30am Starting wage: $70,000 - $92,500 based on relevant years of experience, education, certifications, and comparison to other employees already in this roleDuties and ResponsibilitiesOversee the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, including scheduling, monitoring warehouse staff, attendance, performance and operation productivityPlan and organize daily activities related to production and operationsMeasure productivity by analyzing performance data, financial data, and activity reportsConduct performance evaluations that are timely and constructiveIdentify, recommend and implement measures to improve productivity, equipment performance, work methods, and safetyEnsure trailer cuts and after-hours pick-ups are completed for timely delivery to other branchesEnforce safety, DOT, and company policiesHandle and participate in investigating employee concernsManage security of the yard and buildingIdentify and escalate all operational concerns to appropriate managementDetermine labor needs to meet production goalsHire, train, discipline, and onboard new staffHold weekly meetings to communicate goals and assignmentsForecast peak delivery periods and issue appropriate work assignmentsStreamline logistics for cost-effectiveness and efficiency in warehouse operationsEnsure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and quality guidelinesPeriodic travel may be requiredPerform other related duties as assignedSkills and AbilitiesAbility to manage and coordinate a variety of shipping methodsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong supervisory and leadership skillsThorough understanding of applicable federal, state, local and company safety policiesProficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related softwareEducation and ExperienceAt least 21 years of ageHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredBachelor's degree in Business Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Logistics or related field preferredMust hold or obtain a valid forklift certificationMust hold a valid CDL Class A driver's license OR successfully complete Company paid CDL training program3+ years of experience in distribution or transportation industry preferredPhysical RequirementsAbility to pass a DOT physical examAbility to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively and up to 100 pounds occasionallyAbility to bend, lift, twist, carry, and slide freight in the warehouseProlonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer Ability to work with all types to freight which include, but are not limited to hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animalsBenefitsHealth Insurance, Dental Insurance, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off (PTO), Employee Assistance Program, 401(k) Plan, Quarterly Bonuses, and more.EEO and Affirmative Action StatementSpee Dee Delivery Service, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
