For more than 140 years, Johnson Controls has delivered performance where it really matters. Backed by advanced technology, lifecycle services and an industry-leading field organization, we elevate customer performance, turn goals into real-world results and help move society forward.

The International Coordinator supports the distribution center’s global supply chain by planning and executing international outbound shipments, ensuring regulatory compliance, and coordinating cross-functional activities. This role acts as the primary liaison with international customer service teams, freight forwarders, carriers, and internal teams to achieve on-time, accurate, and cost-effective international distribution.

    Key Responsibilities:

    · Plan, schedule, and coordinate international outbound shipments (air, ocean, road, rail) to/from suppliers, manufacturers, and customers.

    · Provide estimates of customer orders.

    · Prepare and verify international documentation (commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading/air waybills, packing declarations, certificates of origin, HS codes, Incoterms, export/import licenses, ISF/ACI where required).

    · Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and company policies (customs compliance, sanctions screening, embargoes, license requirements, product classifications, labeling, and safety standards).

    · Liaise with freight forwarders, carriers, customs brokers, and third-party logistics providers to obtain rates, secure capacity, track shipments, manage transit times, and resolve exceptions.

    · Maintain accurate data in SAP systems; monitor shipment status, and KPI metrics (OTD, damage/loss).

    · Develop, implement, and continuously improve standard operating procedures for international logistics.

    · Ensure a safe working environment and adhere to all warehouse and transportation safety policies.

    Qualifications:

    · High school diploma or equivalent.

    · 3–5+ years of experience in international logistics, global trade compliance, or distribution center operations; experience in a distribution center setting preferred.

    · Strong knowledge of international trade concepts: Incoterms and HS classification.

    · Experience with SAP and proficiency in data analysis (Excel; SQL or similar a plus).

    · Demonstrated ability to manage documentation and regulatory requirements for international shipments.

    · Excellent communication, and relationship-building skills; ability to coordinate across multiple internal and external stakeholders.

    · Strong organizational and time-management skills; detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and compliance.

    · Problem-solving mindset with the ability to handle competing priorities and tight deadlines.

    Required Certifications:

    · 49 CFR, IATA and IMDG certification, or other logistics/trade compliance credentials.

    Working Conditions:

    · Primary work is in a distribution-center; may require standing, lifting, and occasional physical tasks related to logistics operations.

    · Fast-paced atmosphere with strict deadlines; time may be required outside normal business hours to support international shipments.

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $46,000 - $63,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location and alignment with market data). This role offers a competitive Bonus plan that will take into account individual, group, and corporate performance. This position includes a competitive benefits package.
