Cycle Counting: Perform periodic counts of inventory items to verify the accuracy of the warehouse's inventory records. This is typically done on a rotating schedule, where different parts of the warehouse are counted on different days or weeks (ABC program).
Inventory Reconciliation: Compare the counted quantities against the system's records. If discrepancies are found, investigate the cause and correct any errors in inventory management.
Reporting: Document and report findings, including discrepancies, damages, or other issues discovered during cycle counts.
Data Entry: Input inventory data, discrepancies, and adjustments into the warehouse management system (WMS) or enterprise resource planning (ERP) system
Collaboration with Other Departments: Work closely with production, inventory control, procurement, and warehouse staff to ensure stock is correctly tracked and all discrepancies are addressed in a timely manner.
Communicates and works closely to build effective relationships with production supervisors and group leaders.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
ü Attention to Detail: Cycle counters must be able to spot errors, inconsistencies, and discrepancies in inventory records.
ü Mathematical Skills: Ability to count and reconcile quantities, often in large volumes of items.
ü Knowledge of Inventory Systems: Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or enterprise resource planning (ERP) tools to track and adjust inventory.
ü Communication Skills: Ability to report discrepancies and collaborate with different departments.
ü Forklift operating knowledge.
ü Inventory control knowledge is a must.
ü Able to lift to 50 pounds.
ü Able to stand/walk for long periods of time.
ü Responsible, organized, proactive.
