This leadership role is responsible for overseeing warehouse and distribution operations, ensuring safe and accurate material movement, maintaining inventory integrity, developing employees, and driving continuous improvement initiatives that support customer satisfaction and operational excellence.This is a full-time, exempt position with typical office hours but flexibility needed depending on business and customer needs. Additional hours may be required to support operational demands. Job Duties and Responsibilities1. Warehouse & Distribution OperationsOversee daily warehouse activities including receiving, put-away, picking, shipping, and material movement.Ensure warehouse transactions and inventory movements are completed accurately and efficiently.Monitor warehouse processes to ensure compliance with company procedures and quality standards.Optimize warehouse layout and storage utilization to maximize space and productivity.2. Inventory Management & AccuracyLead inventory control programs for raw materials and finished goods.Ensure inventory accuracy through cycle counting and sound inventory management practices.Monitor inventory transactions within the MRP system and resolve discrepancies promptly.Evaluate and manage off-site storage and third-party warehouse utilization to support operational and financial goals. 3. Leadership & Team DevelopmentBuild and maintain a high-performing team aligned with Apex's Vision, Purpose, and Values.Recruit, train, coach, and develop employees to maximize performance and career growth.Provide ongoing feedback, direction, and accountability to support employee success.Manage scheduling and staffing to ensure effective use of department resources. 4. Safety, Compliance & Continuous ImprovementEnsure compliance with all company safety policies and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.Maintain documented standard work procedures and workforce compliance.Support Lean manufacturing initiatives, cost reduction efforts, and continuous improvement activities.Drive 5S principles and eliminate waste through sustainable process improvements.Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications2-5 years of warehouse, distribution, or supply chain management experience in a manufacturing environment.Previous leadership or supervisory experience with demonstrated ability to coach and develop employees.Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.Knowledge of inventory management systems, warehouse processes, and material flow.Experience with Lean manufacturing concepts and continuous improvement initiatives preferred.Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.Technical SkillsWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.Experience using ERP/MRP systems and warehouse management software.Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.Ability to analyze data and resolve inventory or process-related issues.Basic math and problem-solving skills.Work Environment & Physical RequirementsIndoor manufacturing and warehouse environment.Frequent standing and walking throughout the workday.Occasional bending, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing stairs.Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.Exposure to fragrances and seasonally warm warehouse conditions.
