Job Title: Warehouse Forklift Operator
Location: Burlington, NC
Shift: 1st M-F 8am-5pm
Pay: $16.00
Job Summary:
The Forklift Operator is responsible for safely operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to move, store, and transport textile products throughout the warehouse. This role supports shipping, receiving, inventory control, and production operations while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate sit-down Forklift safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload incoming and outgoing shipments of textile materials and finished goods.
- Transport pallets, rolls of fabric, yarn, and other materials to designated warehouse locations.
- Supply production lines with materials as needed to maintain workflow.
- Accurately scan, label, and track inventory using warehouse management systems (WMS) or RF scanners.
- Conduct daily forklift inspections and report equipment issues or maintenance needs.
- Verify shipment quantities and inspect materials for damage upon receipt.
- Assist with cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
- Follow all company safety procedures, OSHA regulations, and warehouse policies.
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse, including proper storage of materials.
- Collaborate with shipping, receiving, and production teams to ensure timely movement of goods.
- Stack and store products safely to maximize warehouse space utilization.
- Complete required paperwork and electronic documentation accurately and timely.
- Assist with general warehouse duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Previous forklift operating experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
- Ability to safely handle textile products, including fabric rolls and palletized materials.
- Experience using RF scanners and inventory tracking systems preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Forklift certification preferred or ability to obtain certification.
Work Environment:
- Warehouse and textile manufacturing environment.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
- Exposure to varying temperatures, dust, and warehouse traffic.
- Overtime and weekend work may be required based on production demands.
