Warehouse Inbound Checker

Every truck that backs into our dock is carrying a promise. Forty cartons, the paperwork says. The right item numbers. Nothing crushed, nothing missing. Most of the time that promise holds up. Sometimes it does not, and the only way anyone ever finds out is if someone actually looks.

We are looking for the person who looks.

We are a third party logistics warehouse receiving large item freight for multiple clients. As our Warehouse Inbound Checker, you are the first set of eyes on everything that comes through the door. You will match each shipment against its bill of lading and packing list, count what actually arrived, inspect it for damage, and get it recorded in our system so the rest of the building can trust the numbers.

Some days you are working a trailer side by side with a forklift operator, calling out item numbers in English or Spanish as pallets come off. Other days you are the one who notices that a carton marked twelve only holds ten, and you catch it before it becomes somebody else's mystery three weeks later. Inventory accuracy starts at receiving. Here, it starts with you.

• Check every inbound shipment against the BOL, packing list, and receiving documents before it is accepted
• Verify quantities, item numbers, labels, and product condition, one pallet at a time
• Inspect freight for damage, shortages, or anything that does not add up, and document what you find
• Record received inventory accurately in our warehouse system
• Flag receiving issues and discrepancies to the warehouse team quickly and clearly
• Work closely with forklift operators and floor staff to keep the dock moving
• Make sure every product is properly identified and lands in the correct location
• Jump in to help unload and receive freight when the dock gets busy
• Keep receiving records complete and the receiving area clean, safe, and ready for the next truck
• Follow all warehouse safety procedures and company policies, and pitch in on other warehouse tasks as needed

• English and Spanish bilingual skills are required. This one is a must, not a maybe
• The ability to read and understand BOLs, packing lists, and shipping documents
• A sharp eye for detail, because one miscount at the dock echoes through the whole operation
• A problem solver's instinct. When the count is off, you want to know why
• Basic computer skills and the ability to stay organized and accurate when the pace picks up
• Clear communication with warehouse staff and management
• The physical ability to lift, move, and handle warehouse materials throughout the day
• Previous warehouse or receiving experience is preferred, though a careful eye and a steady work ethic go a long way

• Hands on experience receiving freight or checking inventory, plus forklift experience or certification

This is a full time, on site day shift role, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Some Saturdays may be needed when inbound volume calls for it.

Most days follow the rhythm of the trucks. A few will bring a surprise delivery or a shipment that deserves a closer look. That is exactly where a checker who stays calm and thorough earns their reputation.

This role pays $18.00 per hour, along with the kind of hands on receiving and inventory experience that makes you valuable anywhere freight moves.

You will spend your day on an active warehouse floor and loading dock, with forklifts moving and trailers coming and going. Expect to be on your feet, moving between the dock and staging area and handling freight as needed.
