Inventory Control Specialist – Dairy Manufacturing

Denver, CO | $25.00 per Hour | 6-Month Project Assignment

We are seeking an Inventory Control Specialist to support a major inventory optimization project at a leading dairy manufacturing facility in Denver, Colorado. This is an excellent opportunity to make a measurable impact by improving inventory accuracy, streamlining parts management processes, and supporting maintenance operations within a dynamic production environment.

 

Position Details

Location: Denver, CO 80216
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30/4:00 PM

After training, management offers flexibility with scheduling based on business needs.

Candidates must be available for:

  • Occasional weekend work
  • Overtime as needed

Pay Rate: $25.00 per hour

Assignment Length: 6 Months

Extension Potential: Yes

Conversion to Full-Time: No, this is a project-specific assignment

 

What You'll Be Doing

This role focuses on improving inventory accuracy, organization, and documentation throughout the facility's maintenance parts operation.

 

Inventory Management

  • Conduct ongoing cycle counts to verify inventory quantities and identify discrepancies
  • Investigate and correct inventory variances
  • Support mid-project and final inventory audits
  • Ensure inventory records remain accurate and current

 

Inventory System Maintenance

  • Enter missing parts into inventory systems
  • Update descriptions, quantities, locations, and classifications
  • Standardize inventory records and part information
  • Maintain complete and accurate inventory data

 

Parts Room Organization

  • Reorganize shelving and storage areas
  • Label parts and storage locations
  • Improve overall accessibility and efficiency of the parts room
  • Maintain a clean, organized inventory environment

 

Excess Inventory Processing

  • Identify excess, misplaced, or untracked parts throughout the facility
  • Return appropriate items to inventory
  • Properly stock and shelve recovered materials
  • Ensure compliance with company inventory procedures

 

Team Support

  • Assist maintenance technicians and staff in locating needed parts
  • Answer inventory-related questions
  • Support operational efficiency through accurate inventory management

 

Project Timeline

Month 1

  • Complete initial cycle counts
  • Identify inventory discrepancies
  • Begin shelf organization and labeling initiatives

Months 2–3

  • Perform comprehensive inventory system cleanup
  • Add and update missing part descriptions
  • Process excess inventory and return items to stock

Months 4–5

  • Conduct deep-cycle counts and inventory corrections
  • Finalize organization of shelving and storage areas
  • Improve inventory accuracy and standardization

Month 6

  • Prepare for final inventory audit
  • Validate inventory accuracy
  • Document completed improvements and project outcomes for handoff

Project scope and responsibilities are subject to review and adjustment based on business needs.

 

Qualifications

Required

  • 1 - 4 years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, storeroom management, maintenance inventory, or a related role
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience with mechanical parts, maintenance inventory, or consumable inventory management
  • Ability to lift up to 50–60 pounds
  • Experience operating a standing pallet jack

 

Preferred

  • Experience using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)
  • Forklift certification
  • Manufacturing, industrial, food production, or maintenance storeroom experience
