Warehouse Inventory Specialist


Pay: $18.90/hour

Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Additional Availability: Evenings, weekends, and emergency response as needed

Employment Type: Temp to Full-Time

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Warehouse Procurement Specialist to support daily warehouse operations by managing procurement, inventory control, and material distribution activities. This position plays a vital role in ensuring departments have the supplies and equipment needed to operate efficiently while maintaining accurate inventory records and cost-effective purchasing practices.

The ideal candidate has experience in warehouse operations, purchasing, inventory management, and vendor coordination. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional who enjoys balancing procurement responsibilities with hands-on warehouse operations in a fast-paced environment. 


Key Responsibilities

  • Procure materials, supplies, and equipment in accordance with established purchasing policies and procedures.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels while minimizing excess stock and shortages.
  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments for accuracy and quality.
  • Organize and store inventory in a safe, efficient, and accessible manner.
  • Issue materials and supplies to internal departments while maintaining accurate distribution records.
  • Track and monitor inventory using computerized inventory management systems.
  • Perform routine cycle counts and physical inventories while investigating and resolving discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with vendors regarding pricing, product availability, and delivery schedules.
  • Prepare purchase orders, requisitions, and related purchasing documentation.
  • Track expenditures to ensure compliance with departmental budgets.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, inventory usage, and vendor performance.
  • Ensure compliance with warehouse safety standards and proper material-handling procedures.
  • Assist with developing and improving warehouse, procurement, and inventory-control procedures.
  • Respond to internal department requests and provide excellent customer service.
  • Provide support during evenings, weekends, and emergency-response situations as needed.


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Two to four years of experience in warehouse operations, procurement, purchasing, or inventory control.
  • Experience using computerized inventory management or warehouse management systems.
  • Knowledge of procurement practices, purchasing procedures, and inventory-control best practices.
  • Ability to analyze inventory information and anticipate supply needs.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and perform detailed administrative work.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in standard office software, including Microsoft Excel.
  • Valid Texas driver's license required.
  • Forklift certification, or the ability to obtain certification within the required timeframe, preferred.
  • Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and respond to emergencies as needed.


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to frequently stand, walk, bend, and lift.
  • Ability to operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
  • Ability to work in warehouse and outdoor environments with exposure to varying weather conditions, noise, dust, and moving equipment.
