    Warehouse IT Support Specialist

    Location: Plainfield, IN (On-site)
    Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire

    About the Role

    We are seeking a hands-on Warehouse IT Support Specialist to support IT operations at a high-volume distribution center in Plainfield, Indiana. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced warehouse environment, providing technical support for warehouse technologies, automation systems, and end users.

    This is an on-site, contract-to-hire opportunity supporting critical warehouse operations.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide onsite IT support for warehouse operations and end users.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
    • Support Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and assist with issue resolution and escalation.
    • Configure, deploy, and maintain RF scanners, handheld devices, mobile terminals, and industrial PCs.
    • Support barcode scanners, Zebra printers, label printers, and other warehouse hardware.
    • Configure and maintain mobile devices using MDM solutions (such as SOTI).
    • Troubleshoot Windows workstations and back-office computer equipment.
    • Support wireless connectivity for warehouse devices, access points, and mobile equipment.
    • Perform hardware installations, upgrades, repairs, and preventive maintenance.
    • Assist with warehouse automation systems, including basic PLC diagnostics and coordination with automation vendors or engineers.
    • Manage incidents and document resolutions using the Help Desk ticketing system.
    • Receive, inventory, deploy, and track IT assets.
    • Participate in warehouse IT projects, system upgrades, and technology rollouts.
    • Ensure compliance with IT security policies and malware prevention standards.
    • Provide support during system outages and critical warehouse incidents.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • 5+ years of IT Support experience (warehouse, manufacturing, distribution, or logistics environments preferred).
    • Experience supporting Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
    • Experience with RF scanners, handheld devices, barcode scanners, and mobile computers.
    • Experience supporting Zebra or similar label printers.
    • Knowledge of Windows operating systems and basic networking.
    • Experience with Active Directory and hardware troubleshooting.
    • Familiarity with SOTI or other Mobile Device Management (MDM) platforms is a plus.
    • Exposure to warehouse automation, PLCs, conveyors, or industrial systems is highly preferred.
    • Strong troubleshooting and customer support skills.
    • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

    Work Environment

    • 100% On-site in Plainfield, IN.
    • Warehouse environment with varying temperatures.
    • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
    • Frequent walking, standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, and climbing.
    • Flexibility to support overtime, off-hours, and occasional second-shift coverage as needed.
