The Warehouse Shipping Lead - Shipping is responsible for overseeing all outbound logistics and shipping operations within the warehouse. This role leads full‑time, part‑time, and seasonal warehouse staff to ensure timely, accurate order fulfillment while maintaining compliance with safety and quality standards. The Shipping Lead manages shipping schedules, carrier coordination, documentation processes, and serves as a key liaison between warehouse operations and internal departments such as Order Processing, Sales, Finance, and Customer Service. This position also contributes to maintaining inventory accuracy, managing returns, and improving shipping workflows.

Essential Functions:

• Lead, guide, and support warehouse employees responsible for outbound shipments
• Manage onboarding and training of new and seasonal shipping staff
• Assign daily tasks, ensure workflow efficiency, and support troubleshooting during peak volumes
• Direct all outgoing shipments to customers and logistics partners
• Oversee bulk, LTL, TL, and ecommerce drop ship orders based on customer requirements
• Ensure shipping documentation (labels, packing slips, invoices, BOLs, tracking) is accurate and complete
• Maintain shipping schedules and coordinate pick ups with carriers and logistics providers
• Work closely with Order Processing, Sales, Customer Service, and Finance to ensure accuracy and alignment on customer requirements
• Communicate issues, delays, or discrepancies to internal partners and assist in resolving them
• Collaborate with other warehouse leads to coordinate space, labor, and equipment availability
• Maintain a safe working environment by enforcing safety rules and proper equipment usage
• Ensure all operators are trained and certified to use warehouse equipment
• Oversee routine maintenance of shipping equipment and ensure all tools are functioning properly
• Conduct cycle counts and support physical inventory activities to maintain accuracy
• Oversee returns processing, including inspection, documentation, and restocking coordination
• Track and replenish warehouse shipping supplies, ensuring availability within budget guidelines
• Recommend process improvements to increase speed, quality, and shipment accuracy
• Identify challenges or bottlenecks in outbound workflows and implement corrective actions.
• Support implementation of new shipping procedures, systems, or technology

This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Required Education and Experience:

• Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
• Experience with ERP and warehouse management systems
• Experience using Microsoft Office Suite
• Minimum of three years of experience in a distribution environment.
• Ability to read and write English, follow verbal instructions, and use simple math
• Certified forklift truck operator preferred
