Description

The POWER of a CAREER!

At Northpointe Bank, we believe your career should empower you — to grow, contribute, and find purpose. We’re hiring a Warehouse Lending Underwriting Reviewer to review mortgage loan submissions for completeness, accuracy, and eligibility prior to funding authorization.

This is a second-level review role — not an initial underwriting position. There’s no new credit decisions — just your sharp eye for quality assurance, program eligibility, and risk management.

This role is ideal for someone with strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. If you thrive under deadlines, catch errors quickly, and value accuracy, this is the opportunity for you.

Training for this role will be in person in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Once training is complete, a fully remote schedule will be available.

What You’ll Do:

  • Review mortgage loan submissions for accuracy, completeness, and eligibility under the Mortgage Purchase Program.
  • Validate borrower documentation against agency and investor guidelines (Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, VA, Rural Development, PMI).
  • Assess credit, collateral, and compensating factors to ensure loans meet secondary market standards.
  • Monitor client facility balances and depository accounts to ensure compliance with program requirements.
  • Process operating account wire requests and track client facility limits.
  • Stay current on investor, agency, regulatory, and industry standards.
  • Meet or exceed expectations in compliance, quality, accuracy, and customer service.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent work experience.
  • 2–4 years of mortgage underwriting, processing, or warehouse lending experience.
  • 2–3 years of experience in similar position being sought.
  • Strong knowledge of conforming, non-conforming, FHA, VA, Rural Development, and investor programs.
  • Familiarity with secondary market underwriting standards and investor documentation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and mortgage-related software platforms.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to evaluate complex loan files.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; team-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines with accuracy and efficiency.

Why Join Northpointe?

This is a fast-paced, detail-oriented role where your accuracy and decision-making directly impact loan funding success. You’ll join a collaborative team environment with opportunities to grow, while ensuring high-quality standards that protect the Bank and support our clients.
