Warehouse & Logistics Operations Manager

Location: Youngstown, OH

Role Overview

This role leads day-to-day warehouse and logistics operations, ensuring materials move accurately, safely, and on time. The Warehouse & Logistics Operations Manager oversees inventory control, shipping and receiving, equipment readiness, and team performance while partnering closely with operations, sales, and customer stakeholders to meet delivery commitments.

This position has direct responsibility for warehouse supervisors and material handling teams.

Key Responsibilities

Warehouse & Inventory Operations

  • Oversee inbound and outbound warehouse activities, including shipping, receiving, and storage of finished goods.
  • Conduct routine inventory cycle counts and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and availability.
  • Provide inventory status updates to support production planning and customer order fulfillment.
  • Maintain organized records for all shipping, receiving, and logistics documentation.
Logistics & Customer Coordination
  • Coordinate outbound freight and transportation in alignment with customer delivery requirements.
  • Partner with commercial and customer-facing teams to support order execution and material availability.
  • Monitor on-time and in-full (OTIF) performance and prepare operational reports for leadership.
People Leadership & Performance
  • Lead, coach, and develop supervisors and material handling staff to support safe, efficient operations.
  • Conduct performance reviews, participate in hiring decisions, and support training initiatives.
  • Ensure daily assignments meet quality, safety, and productivity standards.
Safety, Quality & Equipment
  • Maintain warehouse equipment and coordinate preventive maintenance for vehicles and tools.
  • Identify and address unsafe conditions or process deviations; stop work when necessary.
  • Escalate potential quality or food safety concerns to the appropriate quality leadership.
Continuous Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to improve warehouse layout, workflows, and inventory accuracy.
  • Support the implementation of process improvements and standard operating procedures.
Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Logistics, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5-8 years of experience managing warehouse operations and frontline teams.
  • Strong working knowledge of inventory systems and ERP/WMS platforms.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Work Environment

This role is based in a manufacturing facility with both warehouse and office-based responsibilities. Noise from machinery is present, and routine interaction with shop-floor operations is expected.
