Warehouse/Mailroom Student Employment
Salary: $12.00- $13.00
I. Position Purpose
The purpose of this position is to support the daily operations of the College's warehouse and mailroom by ensuring the timely, accurate, and efficient receipt, processing, organization, and distribution of packages, mail, supplies, and operational materials. This role helps maintain smooth logistical operations across the main campus and auxiliary locations, directly supporting faculty, staff, and students.
The position also contributes to maintaining an organized, safe, and well-stocked warehouse environment while assisting with custodial and office supply distribution. Through dependable service, attention to detail, and effective communication, this role plays a key part in ensuring campus departments and residential students receive the materials and resources necessary for their academic and operational success.
II. Duties and Responsibilities
- Receive, log, and manage employee packages and mail; coordinate email communications and deliveries for the main campus and Nelsonville auxiliary locations.
- Receive, log, and manage student packages and mail; coordinate email notifications and distribution for main campus residential students.
- Organize, inventory, and restock warehouse materials and supplies.
- Receive, process, and deliver Custodial and Office Orders submitted through the Request System.
- Perform general cleaning duties for both the interior and exterior of the building.
- Sort and transport items for recycling and waste disposal.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
III. Qualifications - Education, Experience, and Skills
- Must be currently enrolled as a full-time Hocking College student.
- Must meet federal requirements for Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP).
- Must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0.
- Exhibit a positive, professional attitude.
- Trustworthy and dependable
- Valid Ohio Driver's License
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to bend, lift, and carry materials regularly
- Must wear appropriate work attire, including comfortable work clothing and closed-toe shoes or boots
- Ability to work in all weather conditions
- Willingness and ability to complete all required training and professional development assigned by the supervisor, Human Resources, or the College.
