Summary:

The Warehouse Manager serves as an integral part of the Warehouse team by providing reliable and timely transportation of goods, ensuring accurate deliveries, and supporting overall warehouse operations in a busy retail/c-store environment. This position is responsible for directing and coordinating daily activities of the distribution center.  The Warehouse Manager supervises all aspects of the distribution center ensuring team member performance is executed with a high degree of safety and efficiency.  The Warehouse Manager establishes operational procedures to ensure inventory control, maintenance of facilities and fleet. 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, hire, train, and supervise a team of warehouse team members.
  • Create weekly schedules and ensure staffing levels are appropriate for peak and off-peak hours.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback and development opportunities.
  • Provide disciplinary plans and coaching for team members when necessary.
  • Train team members in safety protocols and environmental best practices to minimize waste and ensure sustainability.
  • Provide continuous leadership and coaching to team members, routinely shaping positive & constructive feedback to help support the team’s success. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Logistics responsibility to include order placement, in-bound freight handling, out-bound order fulfillment and administration of the same.
  • Provide consistent contact for all distribution-related communications (internal and external). 
  • Ensure guest concerns are resolved effectively and promptly.
  • Maintain inventory levels and product rotation to ensure product freshness and in-stock conditions. 
  • Enter purchase orders on the day orders are placed.
  • Post deliveries to inventory on the day delivery is received.
  • Process daily orders, special request orders and credits/charges daily.
  • Track and report load building by team members to ensure accuracy and production standards are met.
  • Ensure facility is clean, clutter free and ready for business at the end of each day.
  • Verify vehicle pre-trip and post-trip inspections are executed daily. 
  • Verify monthly preventive maintenance is performed on all liftgates, pallet jacks & forklifts.
  • Verify quarterly preventive maintenance is performed on dock plate levels and garage doors.
  • Complete weekly spot audits and quarterly inventory audits. 
  • Possess a working knowledge and ability to perform daily tasks of all team members.
  • Load, transport, and deliver products to Company sites in a safe and timely manner.
  • Assign delivery routes and schedules.
  • Handle goods with care to prevent damage or loss.
  • Report any incidents, delays, or vehicle issues.
  • Comply with all traffic laws, safety procedures, and Company policies.
  • Maintain cleanliness, appearance and mechanical operation of the Company vehicle in keeping with company standards; comply with all aspects of the Company Vehicle policy.
  • Support and facilitate organizational changes, continuous improvement and communication.

  • Maintain a clean driving record within required insurance guidelines, including valid state issued driver’s license, and be at least 21 years of age to be insured with Company.
  • Operate Company vehicles, including a box truck (26 foot and over) in compliance with the state & federal laws.
  • Operate electrical pallet jack, forklift, and 2-wheeler; forklift certification is required.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and can fluctuate on a seasonal basis.  Typical workday begins at 7:00 a.m. and ends when daily tasks are completed. Will be required to work holidays throughout the year and occasional weekends during peak season.

Education & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • At least 5 years of experience in logistics is required
  • Mechanical aptitude preferred
  • Class A CDL required or ability to obtain within first 30 days of employment

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand at least 8 hours constantly, walk, sit, talk/hear, push/pull, climb, bend/stoop, crouch/kneel/crawl, taste/smell, balance, twist/reach, carry, grasp with hands, squat, and drive. 
  • Lifting Requirements: Lift/pull up to 60 lbs. daily.
  • Hearing Requirements: Ability to hear alarms, communication equipment, verbal instructions, machinery & area specific items such as forklift and pallet jack.  
  • Cognitive Requirements: Basic reading, writing and math skills. Basic speech skills; must be able to speak, read, write & understand the English language, memorization, analytical skills, function under stress & make independent decisions. 
  • Vision Requirements: General vision requirements in addition to close vision (<20 inches), Distance Vision (>20 feet), color vision and peripheral vision.
  • Noise Levels: Normal (<85dB) noise levels and/or Loud (>85dB) noise levels.   
  • Repetitive Motion(s): Regularly & repetitively use both feet and both hands.
  • Environmental Factors: General working conditions include wet/humid/steam conditions not created by weather, working with mechanical parts and machinery including machinery that contains moving parts, toxic/caustic chemicals, concentrated soaps & cleaning solutions, asbestos exposure, outdoor weather conditions, extreme heat/cold, confined areas, electrical equipment, vibration, possible flying debris, flashing/strobing lighting and work around vehicles in motion.
